Biography & Training

David is a fifth-generation resident of Park County and has spent most of his life in service to this community. His grandfather, father, uncle and mother have all served in Fire/EMS of our small community. David is the father of four and his favorite job is being Dad (just ask him). David is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting. David and his family live in Fairplay. He has a passion for service to his community and serves on the board of Salvation Army and The South Park Burro Band Booster.

David is in his 12th year as your Park County Coroner and 19th year in emergency services here in Park County. David has achieved the highest standards to bring the latest in Forensic Science right here to Park County. Some of those accomplishments are listed below:

  • David is a Board Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigation.

  • The Coroners Office is Fully Accredited by the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners. (Initial 2015, reaccredited 2020)

  • Established Park County Coroner CARE Team in 2016 to support families and friends of the deceased.

  • Established the Park County Morgue in 2012.

  • Standardized all Deputy Coroners on his staff being registry certified by the ABMDI.

  • Established Annual reports published on the Coroners Office web-site.

  • Made the process of requesting a public record easy and convenient to the public on the web-site
